This 'new member' of Infineon Technologies Sensor family, TLE4980, is an active chopped mono cell Hall sensor ideally suited to back-bias reduced camshaft applications. Its basic function is to map either a tooth or a notch into a unique electrical output state. The mono cell concept allows TIM, Twisted Independent Mounting. The device is customer programmable in order to achieve TPO, True Power On capability (that means the correct output state is given instantaneously on switching the supply voltage on), even in the rase of wide temperature changes and production spreads such as different magnetic configurations or misalignment. An additional self-calibration module has been implemented to achieve optimum accuracy during normal running operation conditions.
