Models, which describe heat conduction within Thermal Protection System (TPS) materials and radiative exchange at the surface of space vehicles have been developed to supplement catalysis modelling at the sur-face with the aim of accurate prediction of the thermal loads during re-entry. These models have been de-veloped for the 3D Parallel-Multiblock (P-MB) URANUS code. Results and influence of the modelling are demonstrated on hand of the re-entry vehicle X-38 with real TPS coating.
