The present paper reports of several products developed by ESMA in the field of electrochemical capacitors creation. It demonstrates test results obtained for modules comprised of 30 series connected capacitors with operating voltage of 45-42V, capacitance from 100 to 200 F, and maximum power up to 56 kW. The modules being considered as a fragment of complete capacitor system were tested in regimes simulating their performance in hybrid vehicles. The data regarding cycle life, temperature conditions, and performance efficiency in charge-discharge cycle has been cited. Voltage behavior was studied an individual capacitor cells within a module. Obtained results testify to perspectives of using ESMA electrochemical capacitors in this area. Series and parallel connection of modules allows construction of capacitor assemblies with various energies and power for use in different types of vehicles.
