Saint-Gobain Sekurit has developed a high-performance electrochromic (E/C) glazing named SGS LIGHTUNING suitable for automotive applications such as sunroofs. This proprietary technology provides a variable range of photopic and solar transmissions. The structure and the characterists of the product are described. Of no less importance is the ability of the E/C technology to satisfy the stringent requirements os the car industry. The results of some of the performed tests are reported. First full scale prototypes incorporating this technology have been manufactured.
