Vehicle structures are increasingly benefiting the outstanding performances of advanced composite materials. Their structural inhomogeneity and anisotropy makes them vulnerable to a wide range of defects and in-service produced damages. Must be prevented or detected and evaluated once occurred. The paper presents some techniques used by the authors in accessing the structural integrity of composite materials meant to increase reliability of vehicle structures under most severe service loads.
