The results of several years of research of flow-induced carbon dioxide/hydrogen sulfide (CO2/H2S) corrosion using the dynamic field tester (DFT) coupled to various crude oil wells is summarized. This includes the gathering of field data for realistic assessment of corrosion rates and its comparison to those rates obtained from existing prediction models, evaluation of steel metallurgy and composition, operational conditions, water cuts, and flow rate effects.
