To support the Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle's (AAAV's) mission objectives, it is essential for the baseline materials to be evaluated in forms other than plate. Addressing this, the Office of Naval Research developed the manufacturing technology for 2519 in product forms such as extrusions and forgings. Tests confirmed the hot-workability and manufacturing development for 2519 AAAV-specific extrusions.
