Today's in-car computing speed requirements exceed the limits of all present traditional bus networks. Safety applications with cameras and radar, and infotainment and navigation systems are demanding much higher bandwidths. lnova Semi's point-to-point high-speed link GigaSTaR (Gigabit Serial Transmit and Receive) offers 1.2 Gbit/s by using just one single couple of a shieled twisted pair cable. In addition the link's reciever's side does not need any ground or supply voltage relationship to the transmitter. That enabling technology allows for future innovative high-speed concepts inside the car, bus, train or aeroplane. All applications described can be fulfilled in real-time with the offered concept.
