Incorporating the best technology from Daimler Chrysler's most advanced operations worldwide, the innovative new Toledo North Assembly Plant (TNAP) is a showcase of advanced automotive manufacturing. With fully automated paint shop application processes, ergonomically advanced workstations, 'hospital clean' standards of cleanliness and state-of-the-art systems throughout the plant, TNAP is continuing the company's efforts to push powder coating and other technologies to higher levels of quality, performance and environmental friendliness. The line employs a chrome-free phosphate, a lead-free E-coat process, a powder coating prime coat and a waterborne basecoat. Based on the chemistry of those paints and the rest of the processes, the plant is as green as possible for a painting facility.
