To maintain the initial N.V.H performance of vehicle after long time use, the degree of degradation, influential factors were studied, and the long-term aging resistant anti-vibration rubber was developed. Rubber parts detached from the used car had much higher properties than the initial. To verify the cause of rubber hardening effect, environmental and dynamic fatigue test were conducted in an accelerated condition. From these results, it was turned out that environmental conditions such as heat, light, ozone, etc. were the main reasons. Improved rubber material for engine mount was prepared to restrain rubber aging in high engine room temperature. It was designed that substituted existing accelerator to heat resistant thioate accelerator and harmonized each mixing chemicals. Creep, spring rate change and fatigue test were conducted according to aging time and showed improved properties than the control. Suspension bushes were also produced for the long-term aging resistant properties. Hybrid cross-link system was introduced and the heat resistant flexible cross-link was made between the polymer backbone. Aging resistance and fatigue strength were improved as well. Improvement of long-term aging resistance in rubber material helped the maintenance of spring properties and improvement of dynamic fatigue strength of the antivibration rubbers. Accordingly we could estimate that it would be possible to maintain the performance of a vehicle after longterm use in initial stage.
