Compatibility margins between intentional emission and launch-vehicle equipment were verified by modelling electromagnetic coupling throughout the whole of the upper launch-vehicle subsystem using ASERIS FD code, based on finite difference method in the temporal domain. As well as determining margins for the two configurations under test (with and without hood), this study also revealed the field-structure environment in which the equipment operates. This should facilitate rapid definition of realistic equipment test procedures.
