Headlamp cleaning systems using the water-jet principle have been established due to their universal suitability regarding material and geometry of the headlamp lens. Advancing developments result on the one hand from the demands made on design, whereby the trend towards headlamp adaptation or integration for the now usual telescopic nozzle systems is becoming apparent. In addition, technological demands are determining future trends of development. In this connection primarily the demands made on the cleaning process must be mentioned, which can result from the new light and sensor functions with the underlying legal positions. Further requirements of headlamp cleaning systems are based on the permanent demand to further minimize constructional size and weight, the reduction of the amount of cleaning agent used as well as the integration in and adaptation to future on-board mains structures and voltages.
