In order to improve sound quality of car interior noise, there must be considered three major factors that contribute to the hearing perception, i.e., pleasant factor, power factor and booming factor. Those factors are influenced not only by noise itself but also by seat vibration and visual scenery. The most practical situation when car interior noise is heared, the car under consideration is running on a street. So, in order to evaluate the sound for improvement, the hearing test is desirable to be conducted in a real running car. But if this method is adopted, it is difficult to expect the reproducibility of the same test situation if it is required. So, a laboratory experiment under a simulated condition as if a test car is running on a real street is desirable for reproducibility. Here the effect of seat vibration and visual scenery to the perception of sound quality of car interior noise has been tested. The results show that evaluations obtained by a simple exposure of car interior noise is strengthened by the simultaneous exposure of seat vibration and weakened by the simultaneous exposure of visual scenery from the windscreen. For the realization of a practical situation as if one is driving a real car, simultaneous exposure of either seat/steering vibrations or visual scenery is required for the evaluation of sound quality of car interior noise.
