The International space station (ISS) will be the new laboratory for experiments in space. It will be equipped with a basic laboratory infrastructure for each scientific field, the so-called facilities, where the basic instrumentation will be included. In this paper, the basic facilities for experiments on the ISS in the fields of fluid-physics and combustion are described briefly, to provide an overview on their features and main capabilities.
