This paper describes the development of high-performance affordable gearless electromechanical flight actuators (direct-drive servo-motor with resolver-power converter with integrated circuits ICs) controlled in a nonlinear manner using microcontrollers or DSPs. Advanced actuation and control concepts reported allow us to guarantee the desired performance, reliability, and integrity. The resulting flight actuator performance is verified and documented in this paper.
