Floating cranes are used for marine operations such as installing caissons and lifting blocks for the construction of harbor and offshore structures. Slinging operations are difficult in severe environmental conditions such as winds, waves, etc. because the hanging hook on the floating crane moves in all directions due to ship motions. In this research, a device was developed to decrease swinging of the hanging hook of a floating crane. The effectiveness of the system for decreasing motion was confirmed by hydraulic model tests.
