High-speed multiplexed communication over noisy DC power lines devices that were developed by Yamar Electronics from Israel are described. The DC-BUS multiplex technology transfers digital information inside a car, over a single cable that conducts 12 V or 42 V power and communication. The technology simplifies the installation, reduces harness weight and enables multiple communication channels for Mechatronics, Telematics and Multimedia applications at data bit rates between 10 Kbps up to 1.7 Mbps. Each channel enables communication between multiple devices using CSMA/CR or time triggered protocols. Alliance of leading automotive manufacturers is active in standardisation of Yamar's technology. The DC-BUS Alliance is managed by iQ Power from Munich.
