Co-poly(ether esters), or TPE-Es, are segmented block copolymers and belong to the family of thermoplastic elastomers. As shown in this contribution co-poly(ether ester)s or TPE-Es are versatile materials and cannot be seen as just another type of TPE. Co-poly(ether ester)s or TPE-Es combine excellent low temperature flexibility and exceptional mechanical properties up to high temperatures with good thermo-oxidative stability and resistance towards many chemicals. Therefore, TPE-Es are frequently encountered in applications where severe requirements are demanded In this contribution two examples are mentioned in more detail i.e., the use of TPE-Es in air bag doors and the use of TPE-Es for slush moulded dashboard skins. In both applications the TPEs fuffill the stringent safety, processing and aesthetic requirements of the automotive industry.
