This paper describes the advantage for the low-density molded foam application of 'MITSUI New Polyol-2'. 'New Polyol-2'-based foams with 37 kg/m3 of core density has similar properties to conventional polyol based foams with 45 kg/m3 of density. In terms of moldability, low-density system based on 'New Polyol-2' is superior to that based on conventional polyol and 'New Polyol-1'. Low-density HR molded foam systems based on 'New Polyol-2' have been adopted by plural Japanese OEM's. Although slightly strict control of production line is necessary, these systems can be applied for wide range of shapes of mold, and show good productivity without any problem in their production lines.
