The Finnish national architecture for transport telematics (TelemArk) describes the transport telematics actors, the actors' information systems and the relationships of the actors and systems. The architecture describes the requirements for the actors in order to ensure the compatibility of the systems of different organisations, but does not bind the actors to any predetermined technologies. The second part of the architecture includes a development plan that outlines the current shortcomings and barriers of implementation of ATT services and gives suggestions about the main steps in the near future. Also some of the most relevant international standards have been attached to the architecture and standard interfaces to the most important data flows in the architecture will be developed. The basic architecture was completed in the beginning of the year 2000 and the implementation phase of the architecture is currently underway.
