The autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV), called Sea Oracle, was designed to carry out a variety of tasks safely via remote control and without the aid of a towed cable. This is achieved through a comprehensive software architecture and communication from the AUV to the survey vessel via acoustic links. The Racal/Bluefin AUV is designed with emphasis on reliability and field ruggedness.
