The alternative automobile fuels and life cycles of internal combustion (IC) engine automobiles were examined and discussed. Life cycles were calculated using the economic input-output life cycle analysis (ELO-LCA) software, fuel cycles, vehicle end-of-life stages. The most attractive alternative fuel used is compressed natural gas (CNG) because it is less expensive, less pollutant and toxic, and produce less greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Synthetic fuels like biodiesel from soyabeans, ethanol from corn or woody biomass will become attractive if the co-products are in high demand.
