The flexural response of a submarine pipeline to an underwater explosion bubble is studied in this paper. A simple model for estimating bubble evolution with time and predicting bubble-induced pressure is introduced. A detailed analysis is given to estimate the fluid force acting on the pipeline. Finally, the fluid-structure interaction equation is given and an approximate solution is found using modal superposition method. The response features are discussed. The relation between pipeline length and maximum stresses is investigated.
