Petrel 5424 is a high-resolution, active, hull-mounted 3-D sonar capable of optimizing the organic safety and efficiency of a warship in littoral warfare. The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) is successfully operating the system on RAN frigates in acoustically harsh tropical conditions.
