As the electric line structure, JR East has chosen twin simple catenary type, in which two simple catenary put in parallel. However, since this type has many electric lines and other attached parts, it cannot achieve a good maintainability. In this paper the authors propose 'Integrated & Simplified Overhead Contact System' as a new type of an overhead contact line system. Keeping an equal level of capability to twin simple catenary, the new line system has a better maintainability because of its simple structure and fewer attached parts.
