The presented study is a continuation of earlier research in analog and microprocessor systems for drive control. As compared with the analog systems, due to the application of DSP processor, the FOC algorithms and appropriate dead time compensation, the irnprovement of drive parameters was obtained, in particular, the significant reduction of torque ripple. The choice of the processor including the built-in motor control peripherals, required for feedback connection with the motor and inverter, remarkably simplifies the architecture of the control system. Due to the high-speed operation of the processor the maximum execution time of the program loop reaches 30 microseconds. For the applied modulation frequency of about 10 kHz (PWM cycle period about 100 microseconds) it gives considerable time reserves, which allows further development of the software.
