The paper presents a method to tune the parameters of the chassis system of a road vehicle. The method allows both to consider a very high number of parameters, and to account for a very high number of driving situations. Additionally the method is able to provide useful informations to the designer because the relationships between performance indexes and design variables (i.e. system model's parameters) are highlighted. A case study is introduced in which the ride comfort, road holding and handling of a car are improved by applying the presented method. The results coming from simulations are validated with satisfactory results.
