A probabilistic framework for determining global iceberg impact loads for different offshore systems has been developed. The framework is set up to account for seasonal variations in the population of icebergs and environmental conditions, drift and wave-induced velocities of different sized icebergs in different conditions, ice management and avoidance systems, and iceberg-structure interaction. Emphasis is given to the development of efficient simulation techniques, the effect of iceberg rotation on loads, modeling local shape of the iceberg at contact point, and sensitivity analysis to evaluate areas of uncertainty which cannot be treated probabilistically.
