The equipment described in this paper is designed to develop real time driver models with individual parameters in submicro and micro traffic simulators. The miniature demonstrator is a cheap hardware in the loop tool for realistic micro traffic simulations in real time. This demonstrator seems to be a good real time platform for other software solutions on traffic control, too, before they are tested in field. The driver model sketched out above is behaviour pattern orientated and able to carry human individual parameters. Examples for the driver quality will be reported elsewhere. Examples of complex drive strategies as e.g. overtake strategies are in work.
