This paper presents new results on the modelling, nonlinear dynamic synthesis and numerical investigation of a gyromoment attitude control system for the Russian low-orbital Space Telescope with an internal two-loop system for an ultra-fine image motion stabilization, as well as some engineering developments. The mathematical and cornputer aided methods are successfully applied to the nonlinear dynamic investigations of globally stable and digitally fault-tolerant systems by designing the precise gyromoment attitude control of the Russian observing and communication spacecraft. These scientific and technological results should be helpful in contemporary international space programmes, for example in: precision optical mechanical systems with fine piezoceramic micro-drives (in the Next Generation Space Telescope (NGST, 1998), and laser-based space communication systems); control moment gyroscopes (gyrodines) with electromagnetically suspended rotors and a proper angular momentum of up to 10,000 Nms (in the guidance, navigation and control system of the International Space Station (ISS, 1998).$
