The SOC (state-of-charge) and SOH (state-of-health) of batteries being subjected to different charge-discharge cycles have been characterized in the laboratory by impedance measurements. Some of the parameters extracted from the spectra, RHF for example, relate directly with the SOC of the battery. Moreover, the ohmic resistance RHF, impedance measurement at high frequencies, is a robust parameter that can be included in an on-line determination of the security working regions of the battery. It seems feasible the design of an electronic circuit that can determine these parameters on-line and that could be implemented in a Smart Junction Box (SJB).
