The paper describes an x-band antenna developed for a three-axis stabilized synchronous satellite whose radiation pattern can be controlled from the earth. the wide variety of radiation pattern shapes available includes an 'earthcoverage' pattern and a narrow beam with a 3 grad one-half power beamwidth. the circularly polarized antenna consists of a waveguide lens illuminated by an array of feedhorns. A multipole multithrow power dividing system permits a wide variation in the distribution of power among the narrow beams or 'weighing' of the signals received by the horns in the feed.
