The ats-f and -g communication subsystem provides data reception and transmission links for the experiments to be performed. the subsystem consists of a 30-ft parabolic reflector, a composite feed assembly, and an integrated transponder subsystem. After a description of this subsystem the paper deals with the performance requirements and describes the experiments in which the transponder subsystem performs a major function.
