Feasibility of replacing existing primary and secondary radar in the 1970s with a satellite system to perform air surveillance will be studied by a newly formed ad hoc air traffic control panel of the presidents's scientific advisory committee. the panel will weigh advantages of new spaceborn air surveillance system as an alternative to improvements in existing radar system.
