This article will concentrate on the computer operations that are pivotal in the network's communications. These operations are only one aspect of the vast computer activity vital to apollo missions. Other computers check out the spacecraft and saturn rocket on the launch pad, provide guidance data aboard the command module, analyze telemetry and tracking data, provide mission control with data on mission progress and perform other tasks, the complexity of which staggers the imagination.
