The RVDT system has proven to be superior to previously used sensors for measuring suspension displacement. Accuracy has been significantly improved by eliminating noise, overshoot, and ringing associated with other types of transducers. The RVDT is easy to install and the signal conditioner facilitates simple scaling of the output signal for differing installations. The transducer has also been very rugged, surviving many miles over the rough-road portions of the Ford test tracks.
