Basierend auf der Produktion von 1980 (170,4 Millionen lb.) wird ein Ausweiten der Produktion fuer die Herstellaender USA, Japan, UDSSR, China und England auf insgesamt 276,5 Millionen lb prognostiziert. Aufgrund dieser Situation wird sich der Preis fuer Titan stabilisieren, und fuer industrielle Grossabnehmer in der metallurgischen und chemischen Industrie wird Titan als Werkstoff verstaerkt eingesetzt werden koennen. Die physikalischen und chemischen Eigenschaften des Metalls werden in Form von Datentabellen praesentiert. Insbesondere auf die Korrosionsbestaendigkeit in sauren Medien wird hingewiesen.
