The 35 unit AGV system delivers automotive seat components to and from 15 individual build stations. The system utilizes bar codes, interfaces with a robot, an on-line computer, and automatic conveyors. The AGV's allow the incorporation of the individual build stations which have produced a quantum leap in quality, productivity, and pride in workmanship. The flexibility of the AGV system has allowed rapid response to processing and engineering changes. This is particularly important in that we are supplying built-up seats for luxury vehicles in line sequence, and on a just-in-time basis, to a nearby plant.
