A small scale moving model experiment has been conducted to measure the forces experienced by a high speed maglev train passing through a crosswind. The models, 1.2 m long, were propelled along a test track, in the laboratory, passing through a crosswind gust of variable width and speed. Both types of maglev system: the EDS scheme with a flat track and the EMS system with an elevated track, have been investigated. The track derived data has been compared with results from the wind tunnel.
