Limited slip braking is an advanced form of anti-lock braking which limits tyre to road slip. During braking, car and wheel velocities are compared with the aid of dedicated electronics and a highly damped accelerometer. Braking force is reduced if tyre slip exceeds pre-set limits. The system virtually removes the poor performance aspects of most anti-lock braking systems on rough road surfaces and gravel.
