In the vehicular collision three main phases can be defined: post-impact, impact, and pre-impact, which have to be mathematically modelled to an expert system to be analysed. Data for site geometry are collected in the form of photographs and measurements defining the area of impact and final positions of vehicles, digitized for analysis procedures. A knowledge of analysis procedures about dynamics of vehicles, deformation energy conservation, conservation of momentum has to be collected and put into a knowledge data base. The data acquisition system for this analysis is presented. To these data the data about geometry, weight, and suspension, velcoity and angular velocity are added. The analysis procedures and the display possibilities are discussed. (Jarc)
