A description of the implementation and demonstration of multirobot prototype process line for the demilitarization of obsolete chemical munition is given. Emphasis is placed on hardware and software approaches to achieving remote autonomous operation. Special design considerations arose from the hazardous process environment which precludes manned entry under normal operating conditions and necessitates remote operation and maintenance. This paper summarizes the results of the prototype line demonstrated at GA Technologies Inc. and focuses on the remote design feature planned for the final production facility.
