Over the past several years, the offshore oil industry has been evolving towards the development of special purpose underwater structure maintenance and inspection systems. These early approaches to industry requirements have resulted in highly efficient system designs from which technology can be derived for more cost effective modularized systems packages. This paper presents various modular system designs and how they were derived from proven systems presently in use.
