A computer-aided design program is presented for the interactive design of in-line diesel engine driven systems. The program incorporates both analysis and synthesis routines and design decisions are taken following inspection of a simple graphical output. Three examples are presented illustrating the application of the program to the design of in-line diesel generator sets.
