Accurate sediment and water testing is important to both buyer and seller. Since the majority of the tests for sediment and water are performed in the field by the centrifuge method, both buyer and seller must realize that there are more accurate methods of making the determinations. But since the use of the centrifuge method is the most sensible method for both parties, each should strive to perform the test according to API recommendations and try to achieve the highest degree of accuracy that is possible until a more desirable method of sediment and water determination is developed for field use.
