This paper presents an approach to MultiSensor Information Integration (MSII) based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. It describes the concept of organizations of automated knowledge-based MSII specialists to support the shipboard correlations of of asynchronous reports from diverse sources. The aim of such organizations is to improve tactical situation descriptions for shipboard decision making. The concept is illustrated by an example of a simplified organization to perform platform-centered MSII. The primary roles of the automated specialists and their interactions are described in terms of how this organization responds to its two principal stimuli: receipt of a new report from an information source, and receipt of a request for information from a user.
