The range of intertia sensitive brake control valves currently available is analysed with a view to determining which type of valve is most suited to a wide range of applications. Having grouped the valves into four main categories, the analysis leads to the conclusion that the two state changeover valve offers the best compromise between simplicity of design and good performance.
