An incompressible, inviscid rotational flow model is used to represent the normal impingement of axisymmetric hets and the oblique impingement of two-dimensional jets upon a flat surface. The Poisson-type equation that results from this formulation is cast into suitable finite-difference form and solved by relaxation techniques. Results, in terms of the ground plane pressure distribution, centerline velocity decay, and oblique impingement flowfield structure, compare well with observations. (Kursetz)
