A flow model is developed for the 'weak' glancing shock interaction from experimental observations. Integral continuity, cross-stream momentum and stream-wise momentum equations are written for a control volume taken about the shock interaction region. Analytic functions are used to represent the 3-D velocity profiles. Given the boundary layer properties entering the interaction, the integral equations are solved for the boundary layer properties downstream of the interaction. Computed results are presented for a range of upstream Mach numbers and boundary layer characteristics over a range of shock strengths. The effects of mass bleed on the interaction are discussed. A comparison between computed results and test data for shock interactions at Mach 2 and Mach 3 indicates the analysis yields the correct trends. (Kursetz)
