The purpose of this paper is to present the characteristics of pressure distribution on the blade surface of a highly skewed propeller (HSP) compared with the corresponding conventional propeller (CP). Measurements and theoretical calculations of the pressure distribution for CP and HSP (with 60 degrees skew) are carried out in the uniform and non-uniform flow. The results obtained are as follows. In uniform flow, skew (60 degrees, 66,7 % for 4-blades propeller) has little effect on the pressure distribution. In non-uniform flow, skew has little effect on the amplitude of the pressure fluctuation but causes phase lag corresponding to skew angle. (Wassmann)
